Family Calendar App

A mobile client for the O2 Family Calendar service. Available on the web and on the O2 Joggler, O2 collaborated with Sony Ericsson to develop a native mobile app. I was engaged to provide design and UX specification to Sony Ericsson for the app and to work with a visual design agency to develop assets and final screen designs.

O2 wanted visibility of the app on the phone's homescreen with direct access to a fully featured app from there and to use the existing colour coding scheme for calendar members from the Web client. I began by drafting some scenarios, use cases and personas and validated these with the client. I then developed some design principles to drive design and maintain alignment throughout the project and began sketching out some different approaches to the homescreen overview. After agreeing on an approach, I produced flows for the key use cases and simultaneously developed User Journeys to contextualise them and to present the design to the client in an accessible way, and worked with the agency to develop the visual design for the app.
